Lara Little's very big life
(Calgary, Canada) Lara Little is a Boss Babe. After twenty years in a successful fashion industry career, she started Lusomé, her own technical luxury pyjama brand which now distributes across 120 retail outlets in North America and delivers worldwide.

The luxurious fabrics Lara developed are moisture wicking and the styles include loungewear, lacy detailed nightgowns, and simple t-shirts. The inspiration of the line is to provide women with sleepwear that combats night sweats and hot flashes. Just last year, Lara added a men's line, because we all know men who sweat in their sleep.
Lusomé's success is also linked to Lara's phenomenal media coverage managed by another Boss Babe, PR, Jill Lewis.
Lara's had multiple appearances on local TV and interviews appearing in The Globe and Mail, The Financial Post, and product listings in Oprah Magazine to Real Simple, and even on the Today Show.

The Edmonton born, 48 year-old, is no stranger to the fashion world, Lara began her career at Ralph Lauren and Gucci and learned the appreciation for quality and brand. Then she served more than 20 years as a senior executive in buying roles in Canada’s largest retailer. In 2012, she left the corporate world behind and founded Lusomé.
Her inner voice
“The work we do helps women feel beautiful and comforted in extreme health challenges or just love feeling wrapped in luxury, while keeping cool and dry for a restful night's sleep. That is very rewarding, knowing we are serving a purpose.”
Describe your typical week
“I don’t have a typical week, but I’m often travelling where I’m meeting with our retail partners or seeing media. Business can be consuming as we are in growth mode and expanding into new categories, so I have to force myself to turn off for a hiatus each day. I really cherish my family time, kids activities with my sons in grades 7 and 12, date nights with my husband, and fuel up with my brilliant/strong Boss Babe women in my life, usually with something sparkly in my glass.”
Dress code
“I mostly work from home where you’ll find me in the Lusomé, Donna set in shadow grey…with pearls. (pictured above). If I'm not traveling, my dress code can be described as nerdy chic. A feminine bow blouse, skinny boyfriend Levi’s, a cardigan, boots and some version of pearls somewhere (pictured below).

Describe the fashion style in Calgary
“I spent a week every year in New York, LA, Paris, Milan, London, Florence, and Hong Kong for work for the last 20 years. Each place has their unique fashion signature that morphs over time. For me, New York is hands down the best place on the planet to see the must-have fashion ensemble for a season.
Style in Calgary leans casual and rooted in some Western influence but is actually at the forefront of a global macro lifestyle trend. Thanks to the outdoor pursuits being so close to the Rockies and the transplants from all over in Oil and Gas, we are a melting pot of athleisure technical meets gypsie boho, which is actually very directional and so cool to be a part of.”
